| I didn't know if I should put this in general or here, but...What brand/model of shoulder pads do you guys rock? I'm thinking of just getting the smaller "liner" ones and I dont know if it's worth it or not at this point. | |

| Really depends.
I wear older pads, Brine X-Factor Gels. A little bigger than a basic liner, but quite essentially the same thing, has a small plastic plate covering the path of the colar bone, and then pads extend out exactly to where my shoulders are. I take off the bicep pads to get a little better range of motion and to keep less pads in contact with my body to make sure im not too hot.

| i've been rockin the STX Exo sp's for almost 2 years now, they're pretty nice, but they're really small on me - just a personal prefference... go for some gait mutants... they're tiny. | |

| I wear the Gait Flare: http://www.sblax.net/gait-flare-shoulder-pad.html
I've been wearing it since '06 without a problem. They have been surprisingly protective, they're very lightweight, very comfortable..especially if you remove the upper-arm pads.

| Removing the arm pads is illegal now I'm pretty sure. If shoulder pads come with them, they must stay attatched. | |

technically, if the arm-pads are attached via velcrow or if they snap on then the player may decide whether or not he wants the bicep pads. an equipment penalty can only be assessed if the pads were permanently attached and the player had to remove the pads with something like a knife or skizzors. does that make sense at all? will i ever argue this with a reff on the field? hell no. but Technically, that is the actual rule.
